Fashion, Glamour As Mahnatez International School, Oluyole Holds Inter-House Sports Competition

One of Ibadan’s most elitist privately owned institutions of learning, Mahnatez International School (MIS), Oluyole recently held its Inter-House Sports competition.

The event took another dimension as it was characterized by fashion and glamorous display of Nigeria’s cultures, as well as trophies dedicated to prominent personalities in the country were presented to the overall and winners in the various categories.

Among them include Dr. Zacch Adedeji Adelabu, Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Engineer Femi Babalola of Jogor Centre, late Pa Olanrewaju Dahood Adebisi and Hon. Omolola Rasheedat Essien, Chairperson, Mainland Local Government, Lagos State.

The much attended and fun-filled sporting activity witnessed pupils participating in various games such as match past, fashion parade, tug of war, school and invited school relay race, fill-in the buckets, slippers race, picking the ball, and balloon race, staff and parents races among other lovely sporting events.

The annual Mahnatez International School, Oluyole Inter-House competition according to the Proprietress, Hajjia Bolatito Adebisi, is to promote wellness, bond and friendship and unity among the pupils.

”It is important for students to participate in school sports to improve their self-esteem, learn and build social skills and relationships with their mates and learn how to engage in friendly competition.”

The former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Education also disclosed that regular engagement in sporting activities help children to learn the importance of physical ability as part of a healthy lifestyle for their mental and physical health.

While commending the special invited guests and the planning committee for their time and efforts to ensure hitch-free sporting event, Hajjia Adebisi implored the participating pupils to demonstrate loyalty, unity, team spirit and healthy rivalry during the games.

She also appreciated the judges and game officials, urging them to be upright and transparent in their affairs.

In his opening remarks, Alhaja Adijat Malik, who is the Mother of the Day at the event, disclosed that this type of occasion is an opportunity to celebrate sports, love, progress and unity among the staff, students, parents and all relevant stakeholders within the community of the citadel of learning.

“I am grateful to be a part of this celebration of sports, love, progress and unity. It reminds us of the power of the community and the impact we can have when we come together with a common purpose. As we come together today, let us celebrate the diversity of talents and abilities that make our school community so vibrant and dynamic.

She said that the event is not only to demonstrate the athletic prowess of the pupils but also to embrace and imbibe the value of unity and community that defines the school.

“We are not gathering to celebrate athletic excellence but also to embrace the value of unity and community that defines this school, and to instill values of teamwork and sportsmanship among the pupils.

“I urge the students to cherish this moment and embrace the spirit of competition with grace and humility. Remember that it is not just about winning, but about the friendships you make, the lessons you learn and the memories you create along the way.”

Meanwhile, in the overall results of the second edition of Mahnatez International School, Oluyole Annual Inter-House Sports, Ruby (Red) House scored a total point of 260 to clinch the first position. In the second position is the Saphire (Blue) House with a total point of 256.

Also, Peridot (Green) House and Amber (Yellow) House emerged third and fourth with total points of 233 and 228 respectively.

In the match, Saphire House came first, Peridot second, Ruby third and Amber emerged fourth positions.
