
The anointed candidate of the former Governor Ayodele Fayose, Bisi Kolawole has emerged as the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate for the June 18 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
Kolawole, the former PDP Chairman in the state polled 671 votes to defeat former governor of the state, Segun Oni who scored 330 votes and Prof Kolapo Olusola-Eleka who scored 93 votes.
The PDP governorship candidate, Bisi Kolawole was also a former Commissioner for Environment and hailed from Efon-Ekiti, in Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
Other contestants were Kayode Adaramodu, 10 votes, Lateef Ajijola, 1 vote, Biodun Olujimi who had earlier pulled out got 2 votes, Wale Aribisala, 56 votes, and Deji Ogunsakin, 6 votes.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Ekiti PDP primary election, Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, said that the election was transparent and devoid of any manipulation. He urged the winner to be magnanimous in victory.
