Atiku, Obi, Mark Makinde, Others Lead Summit Against Plan To Make Nigeria One-Party State  ‎

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, leaders of opposition parties in the country have organised a national summit.

‎The summit is centred on curbing the ruling All Progressives Congress’ effort to make the country a one-party state.

‎Those at the summit include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi; former Senate President and Chairman, African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark; former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; and former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

‎Also in attendance were Jerry Gana; former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Saminu Turaki; and political economist Pat Utomi, among others.

‎The gathering, which drew a formidable array of political figures from across Nigeria, was held on Saturday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

‎It is currently underway and underscores growing efforts to foster unity across party lines.

‎The summit also indicated that discussions are focused on pressing national issues, evolving political alignments, and strategic preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
