A member representing Ibadan South West State Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Oluwafemi Oluwafowokanmi, has reaffirmed his unflinching loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde, stating that he would never betray the governor’s trust.
Oluwafowokanmi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo South Senatorial District hopeful, made the declaration while reacting to speculation about an impeachment plot against Governor Seyi Makinde.
Speaking in Ibadan on Wednesday, the Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Institutions, described the move as a designed effort to create political unrest in the state.
The lawmaker said Governor Makinde is a leader who has shown uncommon commitment to the development of Oyo State, adding that personal ambition would not push him to disloyalty.
”I want to confirm that as a member representing Ibadan South West State Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, I have not been contacted, invited, or participated in any meeting regarding the speculation about the impeachment plot against the governor.
“My loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde is intact. I can never be a Judas to Governor Makinde. He is a father figure, a role model, and a visionary leader whose interest is the progress of our dear state,” he said.
Oluwafowokanmi noted that as a member of the ruling PDP in the state, he respects the governor’s strides in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, and believes in constructive and progressive engagement.
“Politics should be about service, not betrayal, and that is in line with the governor’s vision, which has brought giant strides to Oyo State.”
