Despite their 2-1 loss to the Elephant of Cote d’ivoire at the Final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated the players, coaches and officials of the Super Eagles.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in a statement, commended the Super Eagles for reaching the finals of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
He said even though Nigerians hoped for the trophy which did not happen, the people will continue to believe in the Super Eagles knowing that the best is yet to come.
He added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all two hundred million countrymen and women appreciate their efforts.
The Minister acknowledged that getting to the final for the first time since 2013 proves that nothing shall be impossible for Nigeria when we are united as one nation behind one purpose under God.
