A suspected rapist, Isiaka Hammed has been paraded by the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for defiling an 11 years old minor.
The state Commandant of the Corps, Dr. Michael Adaralewa disclosed on Wednesday during the parade of the suspect.
According to the statement released by the Command Public Relations Officer, Oyindamola Okuneye, Dr. Adaralewa said that the Command will do everything humanly possible to stop female child molestation in Oyo State.
“Molestation of female children must stop, this is Barbaric on our minors.”
Suspect Isiaka Hammed, a native of Saare Ilorin Kwara State, Age 39, was paraded at the state Command Headquarters of the Corps at Agodi, Ibadan.
“NSCDC has made an arrest of one Isiaka Hammed, a native of Saare Ilorin, Kwara State, Age 39 for defiling a minor, age 11 years on 9th of August 2023 at his residence at Osungbade area of Molete Ibadan.
“The suspect, who admitted to the crime made it known that he raped the girl when her mother who sells food within the neighborhood asked the child to give him, Isiaka soup at home and forced the girl and defiled her.
“It takes the quick response of the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Command to arrest the suspect at Popo area of Ibadan South West on 17th of the month after the mother of the girl reported the case to NSCDC.”
Commandant Adaralewa assured that the case would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.
He, therefore, used the medium to appeal to parents and guardians to always protect their children, especially the female child in order not to be a victim of the wicked ones around.
He also enjoined the public to always furnish the corps with credible information whenever they see anything unlawful in their vicinity.
“If you see something, always say something,” he charged.
