The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has said that it will commence the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible voters in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election from Wednesday, July 22 to Friday 7th August, 2026.
In a statement by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Oluwatoyin Babalola, said the exercise is for persons who registered, applied for transfer of registration, requested replacement of lost and damaged PVCs, or updated their records during the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration, CVR exercise.
The statement explained that the distribution will begin at the 332 Registration Areas across the state from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, including weekends.
It added that the exercise will subsequently continue at INEC Local Government Area offices from Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, August 7, also from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Babalola reminded voters that PVC collection is strictly personal, stressing that collection by proxy is prohibited and constitutes an offence under the law.
The REC urged all eligible voters to collect their PVCs within the stipulated period, noting that the Permanent Voter Card remains the only valid means of accreditation for voting on election day.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a free, fair, credible, inclusive and transparent governorship election in Osun State.
