‎OYSIEC Chairman, Dr. Adeniyi Receives OYSCATECH ASUP’s Ambassadorial Award

The newly appointed Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Dr. Babatunde Adeniyi, has been conferred with an Ambassadorial Award by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora.

‎According to the leadership of the union, Dr. Adeniyi, a former Chairman, was honoured with the award in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of the institution and the union while in the citadel of learning.

‎Other personalities honoured at the event include High Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, Chairman, Governing Council, OYSCATECH; Dr. Amusan Gideon; Hon. Sharafa Olanioye; and Hon. AbdulRasheed Ariwoola.

Presenting the award to the OYSIEC boss, Comrade Nurudeen Masopa, Zone C Zonal Coordinator, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), lauded the awardee for the legacies he left behind.

‎He recalled the sacrifices, courage, and struggles he made while in office, which, he said, played a significant role in the progress of the union.

‎In his acceptance speech, OYSIEC Chairman, Dr. Babatunde Adeniyi described the award as timely, considering the fact that it was not posthumous.

‎He opined that the honour and recognition bestowed on him would spur him to be more committed and dedicated to the progress of the union and the welfare of its members.

‎Dr. Adeniyi attributed the success recorded during his tenure to the collective efforts, sacrifices, and contributions of all members.

‎”Even after leaving office nearly six years ago, my commitment to service has not wavered. This award is not merely for recognition but a renewed call to do more,” he said.

“The confidence reposed in me through this honour strengthens my dedication to the union. It reinforces my unyielding resolve to serve with greater responsibility.

‎”The progress recorded by the institution reflects collective sacrifice and genuine struggle. From a time without access to some basic amenities, unity and perseverance brought transformation. The union became a shield, a voice, and a vehicle for development. Together, our commitment to welfare and progress remains unwavering.”

He appreciated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the approach adopted in dealing with union leaders across state-owned tertiary institutions, describing him as a listening governor.
