Few hours after the confirmation of Bar. Bayo Lawal as new Deputy Governor by the Oyo State House of Assembly, the Chief Judgeo the state, Justice Munta Abimbola has performed the swearing in.
The swearing in was conducted at Executive Chamber of the the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking shortly after the swearing in, the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, expressed that the position of Deputy Governor is a position of trust, charging the new Deputy Governor to put the interest of the people of the state at heart.
The governor said that the good performance and excellent results recorded as Chairman of the Housing Corporation are part of qualities earned him the higher position of Deputy Governor.
The governor entrusted Bar. Bayo Lawal to supervise the state Ministry of Justice, Housing Corporation and Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSTROMA).
Makinde assured that his administration will continue to work for the progress of Oyo State.
Speaking with journalists, the newly sworn in Deputy Governor, Bar Bayo Lawal, assured that he will carry out his duties and responsibilities in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He promised to do his best to complement the already achieved successes by the present administration in Oyo State.
Dignitaries attended the swearing in ceremony include Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin and principal officers of the House, members of the state Executive Council and other appointees and the wife of the new Deputy Governor, Chief Ajibola Lawal.
Bar Bayo Lawal was born in 1954 in Irepo Local Government and was former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice during Lamidi Adesina’s administration. This is apart from various political positions he previously held.
