At Last, Special Court Grants Baba Ijesha bail

At last, the Special Court sitting in Lagos State has granted the embattled Nollywood star, Olanrewaju Omiyinka (Baba Ijesha) bail.

Baba Ijesha, who engaged the services of two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, after arguments from both counsel, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo ruled that the defendant be granted bail to the tune of two million naira with two sureties.

According to the Court, one of the sureties must be a blood relation who resides in Lagos with evidence of paying income tax in the last three years while the other must be a legal practitioner who must deposit his bar certificate.

The defendant must also deposit a bond of one million in the account of the court registrar.

Baba Ijesha, who was arraigned on Thursday on a six-count charge at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, pleaded not guilty over allegedly assaulting a minor leveled against him.
