Ilaji Resort Boss, Sanusi @55: ‘I Am A God’s Project, I Will Continue to Live For It’

*Celebrates With Sickle Cell Patients

To commemorate the day he was born some 55 years ago and to express his gratitude to God, coupled with the level he has attained in his chosen part in life, the Chairman, Ilaji Hotel and Resort has celebrated his birthday with sickle cell patients.

The fun filled birthday bash was held at Sherman Hall located at the ever busy Ring Road, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State on Tuesday.

The Ibadan-born globally known businessman, who could not hide his joy, stepped into the hall with unique dancing steps.

The elated Sanusi was joined in the celebration with his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Joyce, former First Lady, Chief (Mrs.) Mutiat Ladoja, Onpetu of Ijeruland, Oba Sunday Oladapo and his wife, Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji and Mogaji Kunle Busari.

Also at the is the founder of Ibadan Central Hospital, Dr. Abib Olamitoye, immediate past Special Adviser on Politics to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Babs Oduyoye among other important dignitaries and former Commissioner for Education, Tokun.

In his appreciation message, Chief Dotun Sanusi said that it is not the fault of any patient of sickle cell to be born as one, saying that what is important is to make life a better place for everybody to live.

While appreciating God for using him to solve challenges around him, Engineer Sanusi disclosed that God that created every individual does not forget, and will find the means to take care of everybody.

“I am alive and live for it and I will continue to live for it. Let me tell you one thing, I don’t have many prayers to pray, I always believe that when I tell God that look, I am a God’s project and you will live my life for people not to suffer, He kept promise everywhere. I am very sure that nobody should think that you have challenges; you can be anything in life. I believe sooner or later, warriors will become the governor of the state. Special people will become the presidents of this nation.

Engr. Sanusi charged them not to see their challenges as obstacles to achieve greater things in life.

Chief Mrs. Mutiat Ladoja charged others to emulate the people like Engr. Sanusi, who have devoted their resources to champion the course of assisting the special people.

The former First Lady said that she has been championing the course of the people living with disabilities for over 30 years.

While charging parents not to throw away children with disabilities or abandon them, advised that they should take them to care homes where they will receive better attention.

The Onpetu of Ijeruland, Oba Sunday Oladapo also commended Engr. Sanusi for all he has been doing not only in Ibadan but also in his domain.

Speaking at the event, the Founder of Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation (IBSCF), Mrs. Olubukola Ajibola, described the celebrant and Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Engr. Dotun Sanusi is a man of timber and caliber whose life is worthy of emulation.

She said that the philanthropic gesture of the celebrant transcends ethnic and religious boundaries.

The IBSCF founder informed that Chief Dotun Sanusi has extended his hands of generosity to the Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation to put smiles on the faces of the patients of sickle cell diseases.

Mrs. Ajiboye said that the assistance of the business mogul has helped in running the affairs of the Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation smoothly.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Foundation for the honour to celebrate his 55 years birthday with sickle cell patients, she noted that it is a testament to the humility and kindness of the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Engr. Dotun Sanusi.

“Our highly esteemed Patron today is a celebration of you. Your kindness, empathy, and unwavering support have touched us all in profound ways. We are forever indebted to you, not only for what you have given but for the spirit with which you have given it.”

The highlight of the event is the presentation of awards and gifts to the celebrant, as well as various entertainment presentations and testimonies by the survivors of the sickle cell diseases.
