Oyo Speaker, Ogundoyin Holds Inauguration Thanksgiving Service

Political associates, friends, constituents and family members of the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin gathered at the First Baptist Church, Anko, Eruwa on Sunday to appreciate and thank God for the re-election of the lawmaker as the Speaker for the 2nd consecutive term.

It will be recalled that Hon. Ogundoyin was last Wednesday re-elected unopposed as the Speaker of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly.

Rev. Olugbenga Ayoola of First Baptist Church, Anko, Eruwa, who rejoiced with the Speaker on his re-election, asked him to see it as a blessing and an uncommon grace of God.

The Cleric urged Hon. Him to reciprocate God’s favor in his political career by striving to make positive impacts in the life of the people.

To commemorate Father’s Day, the Men Missionary Union (MMU) of First Baptist Church, Anko, Eruwa honored the Speaker and some other fathers in the church.

The thanksgiving service coincided with the 32nd year remembrance of the late father of the Speaker, Chief Adeseun Oguntona Ayisa Ogundoyin, who died 18th June, 1991.

In memory of the deceased, the Speaker and his other siblings Adesoji, Adetoye and Aderemi distributed gifts to widows and the less-privileged drawn from various communities in Eruwa and Lanlate towns.

Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said his dad was a strong pillar of support for the people, adding that his legacies linger on.

“This day 32yrs ago, the whole Ibarapaland was thrown into deep mourning when the death of late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin was announced. I was too young to understand the reality of losing one’s father. But to God be the glory, we have continued to enjoy the good name and legacies left behind by our late dad,” Oyo Speaker said.

The program provided an opportunity for the guests to pay glowing tributes to the late philanthropist and business mogul who lived his entire life to serve the people and his community.
