In line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines for the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have concluded primaries for the 32 House of Assembly and 14 House of Representatives constituencies, as well as three senatorial districts that made up the state.
The primaries which commenced on Sunday, May 22, 2022, started with primary elections for aspirants jostling for seats in the state Assembly. The outcome of the primaries across the state constituencies witnessed some serving lawmakers failing to secure return tickets.
Among PDP lawmakers who failed to secure return tickets of their party include Hon. Ayo Fatokun (Akinyele 1), Hon. Rasaq Mabaje (Ido), Hon. Rasaq Abdullahi (South East 1) and Hon. Akeem Obadara (Ibadan North West).
Others are Hon. Olamide Akinajo (Ibadan North East 1), Hon. Akeem Adedibu (Iwajowa), Hon. Lateef Olayiwola (Oorelope) and Hon. Francis Adetunji (Oluyole).
