There was pandemonium in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State as rival cult groups engaged in a free for all battle on Sunday.
The cult groups took to the streets of the home of the state’s Speaker, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye fighting for supremacy leaving five of them dead.
PMParrot’s attention was first drawn to the development after some of them took the war to the social media.
Many Nigerians have since been condemning the unnecessary bloodshed in the rather sleepy town of Ikere Ekiti.
The development has been confirmed to be true by the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu. He said three people have so far been arrested.
Meanwhile, there is still palpable tension in the town, the second largest, and the home town of the Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye.
