Following her defeat in a celebrity boxing bout on Independence Day, actress Nkechi Blessing has appealed to fans for forgiveness and support, saying she wants to return her full attention to her acting career.

In an emotional video message to her fans, Nkechi Blessing thanked supporters, sponsors and those who placed bets on her, while acknowledging the mixed reactions that followed her loss.

“Thank you all so much, both the bad and the good comments,” she said.

She also apologised to those who lost money after backing her in the fight.

“To every single soul, who put their money on me. I’m sorry you lost your money, but then I hope you find a place in your heart to forgive me. Make una no vex, I beg,” she said.

Reflecting on the fight, Blessing admitted that boxing was a new experience for her and said she did not intend to pursue it as a professional career.

She, however, said she would not rule out another fight if an opportunity came her way.

“I don’t plan to be a professional boxer. But if they get another person who want fight with me, make they carry am come. I no dey run,” she said.

The actress added that she now needed to focus on her primary career, acting.

“But then, I need to face my career,” she said.

Blessing used the opportunity to announce the release of her film, “Egusi and Ogbono,” on her YouTube channel, Nkechi Blessing TV.

According to the actress, the film’s release had initially been scheduled for an earlier date but was postponed because of a personal situation involving her friend.

She announced that the film would be released at 3:00 p.m. the following day, urging her followers to support it.

“Support me. I no go fit lose for both ways,” she pleaded.

Blessing said she was determined not to allow the outcome of the boxing bout to affect her acting career.

Nkechi Blessing Appeals For 1 Million Views

The Nollywood actress also appealed to Nigerians to help her achieve her target of one million views for the film.

She said she wanted to experience the milestone and asked fans to subscribe to her YouTube channel, turn on post notifications and watch the film.

“My movie must enter 1 million views,” she said, urging Nigerians to come to her rescue.

Blessing acknowledged that some people might not like her but said she did not expect to be liked by everyone.

She also said she continued to support people even when she did not personally like them, arguing that she would not allow personal differences to affect someone’s livelihood.

The actress became emotional while discussing the challenges surrounding the film, revealing that she had lost her lead actor.

She said she had cried extensively, including after the boxing fight, but stressed that she did not want her emotional state to be interpreted as an attempt to manipulate her audience.

“I don’t want to come and use emotional blackmail,” she said.

According to Blessing, she had invested heavily in the project and was simply asking her fans to support the film.

She said the link to her YouTube channel was available in her social media bio and urged viewers to search for Nkechi Blessing TV on YouTube, subscribe and activate notifications.

Blessing said reaching one million views or more would give her something to celebrate and described her appeal as a vulnerable moment.

“I want to be happy. I want to actually see what it feels like to get… you know, like I said, 1 million views is the goal,” she said.

She ended by reiterating her appeal for support for the film, which she said would premiere at 3:00 p.m. on her YouTube channel.
