Makinde Approves Buses For Shooting Stars

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has approved the immediate release of two buses to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan to support the club’s activities as it competes on the continental stage.

The buses, comprising a 32-seater coaster bus and an 18-seater bus, are expected to provide additional logistical support for the Oluyole Warriors as they continue their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The approval followed Shooting Stars’ impressive CAF Confederation Cup victory over Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the first leg of their preliminary-round tie at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.

In a statement issued by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the gesture reflects the state government’s commitment to supporting 3SC as the club represents Oyo State in continental football.

Shooting Stars Return to Continental Competition

Shooting Stars’ participation in the current CAF Confederation Cup marks the club’s first appearance in continental competition in 27 years, making the campaign particularly significant for the historic Ibadan-based club and its supporters.

The government’s latest intervention is aimed at helping the team maintain its momentum as it seeks to progress further in the competition.

Oyo Government Pledges Continued Support for 3SC

According to Prince Oyelade, Governor Makinde has assured Shooting Stars supporters and fans that the Oyo State Government will continue to provide the necessary support to keep the club in contention for continental honours.

He said the government is determined not only to sustain the team’s current momentum but also to restore the old glory of the “Darling Club of Oyo State.”

Makinde Urges Shooting Stars to Remain Focused

The Commissioner also urged the players, technical crew and management of Shooting Stars to remain focused, disciplined and committed throughout their continental campaign.

He assured the Shooting Stars FC of the continued support of the Oyo State Government as the Oluyole Warriors seek to make a strong impression in African football.

With the approval of the 32-seater and 18-seater buses, the Makinde administration has further demonstrated its commitment to strengthening Shooting Stars’ preparations and supporting the club’s ambitions on the continental stage.
