The Governor of Oyo State and Presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde, has inaugurated the party’s Oyo State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council, charging members to build an all-inclusive structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, which held at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan, brought together key political actors from the party with a mandate to unify the party’s structure and reach out to stakeholders across the state.
Announcing the leadership of the council, Governor Makinde named the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, as both Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign and Director-General of the Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council.
Describing the council as the apex body, the Governor said its primary task is to integrate APM members with other stakeholders and ensure the party presents Nigerians with real political options, not illusions.
Makinde urged the council to move fast, noting that formal campaign activities would soon commence. He added that APM’s goal is to restore healthy democratic competition in the country.
Other principal officers inaugurated include Hon. Saheed Arowosaye as Deputy State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Demola Ojo, as Deputy Director-General for Oyo South Senatorial District; Dr. Femi Ojo as Deputy Director-General for Oyo Central Senatorial District; and Alhaji Siju Lawal as Deputy Director-General for Oyo North Senatorial District.
Also named are Hon. Ramata Agberemi-Dabo as Director of the Women’s Wing and Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa as Director of the Youth Wing.
