House of Assembly Hopeful, Kobiowu Tasks Pupils On Dedication, Focus

The Ibadan South East State Constituency 1 House of Assembly hopeful, Hon. Aminat Kobiowu, has called on young children to remain focused for a greater future.

‎Hon. Kobiowu, wife of the former Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Oyo State Chapter, stated this during the Catch Them Young Initiative Campaign at St. Brigid’s Basic Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan, on Thursday.

‎The graduate of the University of Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, explained her struggles in life, saying she suffered basic life needs, including parental love and care. Kobiowu noted that she earned her pride in life through hard work and self-belief.

‎”I saw hell at a very young age. Since primary 4, my parents had separated, and that made me take responsibility for my four siblings. What a hell! I wrote my SSCE exam with borrowed funds, which eventually landed me as a Pool House Clerk in Ibadan. I sold articles to the University of Ibadan, and eventually, I ended up studying and graduating there. Today, I am a Master’s degree holder from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State,” she said.

‎Kobiowu reiterated the need to imbibe attributes of focus and dedication irrespective of challenges they face. She assured that she would make educational plans and policies through legislative business if elected as representative of Ibadan South East State Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2027.

‎The civil servant turned politician called on the government and parents to continue to work together in ensuring a sustainable environment for thriving education.

Similarly, the Special Assistant on Arewa Community to the Governor of Oyo State, Ahmed Muritala, represented by Ibrahim Abdullahi, called on all parents, regardless of socio-economic status, to support their wards’ vision for self-fulfilment.

‎Meanwhile, the Chief Coordinator of Catch Them Young Initiative and Bright Media Network, while appreciating the teachers and administrators of the school, urged the pupils to prioritize their studies and believe in themselves, regardless of their backgrounds.

‎Pupil-coordinators for the inaugurated clubs included Adeola Oyebisi (Security), Rahmat Abdullateef (Press), Thomas Ayomide (Health), and Maurice Ebenezer (Environment), among others.
