Poor CGPA: UI Asks 226 Students To Withdraw

226 undergraduate students of the University of Ibadan have asked to withdraw their studentship by the authority of the University of Ibadan over poor Cumulative Grade Point Average.

The decision was followed by the meeting of the Senate of the university to ratify the results of the 2024/2025 session for graduating and non-graduating students on Monday.

It was approved at the meeting that students with a CGPA below 1.0 be advised to withdraw, and as a result, the affected students have been unable to access the school portal for registration.

The students asked to withdraw cuts across faculties and span 100 to 500 levels.

It was reported that the Faculty of Science recorded the highest number, with 79 students, followed by the Faculty of Technology with 45, and the Faculty of Agriculture with 35.

Both the College of Medicine and the Faculty of Education have 18 affected students each, while Renewable Natural Resources has 10.

Others are the Faculty of Arts, nine students; Economics and Management Sciences, four; Law, three; Veterinary Medicine, two; and Environmental Design and Management, three.
