Popular media personality and youth mobiliser, Dr. Opeyemi Ayanride, fondly called MC Swagger, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
MC Swagger, who is the ANBROAD Governor in the state, was welcomed into the party by stakeholders in Ibarapa land, alongside the governorship aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK).
The formal reception was witnessed by party leaders, youth groups, and grassroots mobilisers across Ibarapa communities.
They described the decision as a strategic and timely development for strengthening the APC ahead of future political engagements in Oyo State.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK) commended Dr. Ayanride’s decision to align with the APC, describing him as a vibrant force whose influence among youths, creatives, and professionals will add significant value to the party’s progressive agenda.
AKK noted that the APC remains a broad-based platform that welcomes individuals with capacity, credibility, and commitment to grassroots development, unity, and purposeful leadership. He emphasized that the inclusion of MC Swagger reflects the party’s renewed resolve to expand its reach, energise the youth base, and consolidate its presence across Ibarapa Land and the entire state.
APC stakeholders present at the gathering expressed confidence that Dr. Opeyemi Ayanride’s entry into the party will enhance mobilisation efforts, strengthen communication with young voters, and deepen political engagement at the community level.
In his remarks, MC Swagger, Dr. Opeyemi Ayanride, expressed gratitude to APC leaders and stakeholders in Ibarapa Land and to AKK for the warm reception. He affirmed his commitment to the progressive ideals of the party and pledged to deploy his experience, platform, and network in advancing the APC’s vision for inclusive governance and development in Oyo State.
