*Tell Him To Address them Through His Station
Residents whose properties were affected by the ongoing Ibadan Circular Road project by the Oyo State Government have shunned the Chairman of Fresh FM Radio, Mr. Yinka Ayefele when he attempted to address them during the day two of the protest at Challenge area.
The protesters, who have been on the major roads of the city since Monday, have being to Iwo-Road, Secretariat, Molete and Challenge.
They refused to listen to the ‘Tungba’ Gospel musician over what they alleged as ‘nonchalant’ attitude towards their plight.
According to one of the protesters, who preferred not to mention his name, said that Mr. Ayefele did not intentionally come out to address them. He emphasized that the musician came out because he wasn’t comfortable with the obstruction of vehicular movement as a result of their protest in front of his office.
He said that they have visited his office like two times to give them an opportunity to express their plight but he refused to attend to them.
“He didn’t come to address us intentionally; he came because he was affected by our protest. We have visited his office like two times but he refused to address or give us the opportunity to express our grievances on his radio station.
“When he came to us, he attempted to speak to our people through our public address system, but our people refused, instead they told him to address us and the people of Ibadan through his radio station.”
Speaking about their demand, he disclosed that what they wanted is that the government should maintain the initial 75 meters on both sides of the road approved by the previous administration, emphasizing that no government approved 500 meters.
Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has said that he is not ready to address any protester on the street, saying that when time comes he will come in company of the Central Council Of Ibadan Indigenes to meet the ‘real’ properties owners who were affected by the project.
