
The Rivers State House of Assembly has initiated impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Ngozi Odu.
The duo of governor and his deputy were alleged of gross misconduct.
The development was confirmed by Martins Wachukwu, who is the special assistant on media to the speaker, Martin Amaewhule.
The House noted that the allegation of act of gross misconduct in the performance of the function of the Office of the Governor is in contrary to the Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
In the notification letter, the Rivers State House of Assembly alleged Governor Sim Fubara of reckless and unconstitutional expenditure of public funds.
