The management of Parrot Xtra Media Network has celebrated the 5th year anniversary of its popular radio show, Parrot Xtra Hour Aiyekooto on Radio.
The celebration, which was held shortly after the radio show on Tuesday, had Professor Dahud Shangodoyin, who is the Commissioner for Public Works & Transport in Oyo State as the celebrity guest.
The popular radio show is being aired on Splash 105.5fm, Ibadan, capital city of Oyo State on every Tuesday.
Lauding the initiative of the anchor, who is also the Chairman, Parrot Xtra Media Network, Olayinka Agboola, Prof. Shangodoyin, expressed his happiness for being the pioneer guest when the show was launched and also the celebrity guest when it clocked 5.

The Commissioner used the opportunity to pray for the Parrot Xtra Media Network, Splash 105.5fm, and Lagelu 96.7fm.
According to Prof. Sangodoyin, “I am happy to be here today to mark the fifth anniversary of the radio show. I can still remember that I was the very first guest you had on the show five years ago when I was the Commissioner in charge of Oyo State’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
“I bless God’s name on your behalf, and I pray that the Almighty will continue to sustain Parrot Xtra Media Network, Splash 105.5fm, and Lagelu 96.7fm radio stations owned by our father, Oba Adebayo Akande.”
In his response, Ambassador Agboola appreciated the Commissioner and his team for creating time to join him on the show.
“We are most honored that you were able to create time to join us as we celebrate our radio show’s fifth anniversary. We appreciate this gesture. We must equally use the opportunity to congratulate the government of Oyo State under Engineer Seyi Makinde for the transformation we are all witnessing in the state. Our roads are now comparable to what we have in major cities abroad.”
Mr. Parrot as Olayinka Agboola used to call explained that the fifth year anniversary of the radio show was being celebrated in a ‘low-key’ manner because the management is planning a big event coming up in may this year.
“On Monday, May 5, we plan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Parrot Xtra Magazine and PMParrot.com – and of course, by God’s special grace, my 60th birthday. Our consultants, Ceedee Resources under Sir Clement Ige, are already at work to ensure that the day records a huge success.”
Speaking on the journey so far, he says “It has not been easy navigating through the murky waters in this industry. God has been there as our Pillar of Support. We love and enjoy what we do. It is serious hard work. We are proud to say anywhere that what we do, nobody does it in Nigeria. We use the radio to generate content for both our Parrot Xtra Magazine and the online platform, pmparrot.com
“You see, we bring in a celebrity guest onto our radio show, and after the interview session, we transcribe, publish on our website, and later, we download and publish in our colorful magazine. To God be all the Glory.
“I thank all our crew members at Parrot Xtra Media Network for their steadfastness. I also appreciate Prince Wale Michael of Online Dynamix for promising and delivering our heavily customized anniversary cake. We equally appreciate Mrs. Omolola Benedict Ojo for supplying us with drinks.
“I must also appreciate the management of Splash/Lagelu FM for the opportunity given to us to express ourselves on air. Specifically, I salute Alagba Tunde Olawuwo, the General Manager of the radio stations who is also here to celebrate with us.”
Professor Daud Shangodoyin who led others to cut the anniversary cake was accompanied to the Radio Show by Dr. Taiwo Lasisi, the Acting Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Chief Babatunde Tijani (Double Tee) as well as the Coordinating Director, Engineer Rauf Amoo and other top directors of the Ministry of Public Works & Transport.
