Oyo Council Election: OYSIEC Chairman, Olagunju Expresses Satisfaction

The Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, (OYSIEC),  Aare Isiaka Abiola  Olagunju, SAN  has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the ongoing local government election in the state.
Olagunju stated this while speaking with journalists at the Commission’s headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan after election monitoring exercise.
The election was monitored by Commission’s Chairman together with a team of security agencies led by the states’ Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebola Hamzat.
The OYSIEC Chairman noted that complaints about late arrival of election materials at some polling units have been addressed. He, therefore, assured the people of the state that their votes would count.
“I am very glad everywhere is calm, there was no violence, we have addressed all concerns about late arrival of election materials at some polling stations.” Olagunju said.
He appealed to the electorates to  exercise their franchise by voting the candidate of their choices.
In his address, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebola Hamzat, stressed that the collaborative efforts of security agencies have paid off as the election is ongoing under peaceful atmosphere, saying that minor skirmishes from the hitherlands were being addressed.
Hamzat urged the people to come out to vote and elect their choice candidates as representatives in government.
“We have deployed enough security personnel, our people would see them everywhere. There is no cause for alarm, so far so good.”
