2027: APC Constitutes Campaign Council, Names Chairman, Vice, DG, Secretary

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has its Presidential Campaign Council, naming former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.

According to a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council.

The statement also named the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, as Vice Chairman of the Council.

APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

President Tinubu will work with an advisory body comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

‎For zonal coordination, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the South and North. They will work alongside Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Senator Jibrin Barau in the two zones.

Other key appointments include Senator Adams Oshiomhole – Deputy Director-General, Mobilisation, Chief of Staff to the President – Deputy Director-General, Administration, James Abiodun Faleke – Deputy Director-General, Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring

‎Zonal Directors for election planning are Senator Olushola Adeyeye (South West), Dr Ngozi Olejeme (South South), Senator Uche Ekwunife (South East), Muntaqha Rabe (North West), Ahmed Muhammed Ketso* (North Central), and Senator Sani Danladi (North East).

Secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate are Ms Stella Okotete, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, and Audu Maikori.

‎Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN will head the Legal Directorate with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies. Members include Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, former Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.

‎For media and strategic communication, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, will serve as Coordinating Director. He will work with Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, and Lanre Issa-Onilu.

Coordinating Deputy Directors are Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Felix Morka.  Abdulaziz Abdulaziz will coordinate secretarial duties alongside Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke, and Frederick Nwabufor.

‎Segun Dada returns as Director, New Media, with Solomon Arowolo as Secretary, New Media.

‎The council also named five spokespersons led by Dele Alake. Others are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.

In his charge to members, President Tinubu urged the council to work tirelessly to deliver victory for the party in the January 2027 elections.

“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress. We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians,” he said.

“As we march into the campaign season, we have many achievements to trumpet—let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation. Let us soundly defeat all those forces who plan to take our country backwards,” President Tinubu said.
