The founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) and aspirant for the House of Representatives under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa has congratulated Muslims in Oyo State and in particular Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan.
Arc Giwa, in a congratulatory message signed by his Media Assistant, described Ramadan as a period of opportunity to reflect on the past in order to redeem the future.
He noted that the country, Nigeria, is in need of prayers from all its citizens, while urging the Islamic faithful to use the occasion of Ramadan to redeem the future of the country.
Giwa, who recently declared his ambition to contest for the Lagelu/Akinyele House of Representatives seat in the National Assembly, expressed that Ramadan period in not a period to showcase affluence, rather it is an avenue to show support to the neediest in the society and propagate the Islam.
He urged the Muslim faithful to observe the Ramadan in line with the tenets and preaches of Prophet Muhammed as directed by the almighty Allah.
“I want to congratulate myself and all Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria, Oyo State and Lagelu Akinyele federal constituency on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan. It is my belief that Ramadan period is an opportunity to move closer to almighty Allah, show love to one another and show support to the neediest in the society.
“Ramadan is a moment to pay sacrifice, not only in terms of abstaining from eating and drinking alone , but in terms of offering sacrifice to our dear country to redeem its future for the better.
“I will therefore, want to use this medium to enjoin all Muslim to observe Ramadan in line with the tenets and preaches of Prophet Muhammed as directed by the almighty Allah, to extend their hands of fellowship to fellow Muslim brothers and sisters and ensure peaceful co-existence among other religion believers,” Arc. Hassan Giwa said.
