A nursing mother and her eight-month-old baby have been abducted by unknown gunmen in Damba Government Housing Estate, Gusau, Zamfara State.
The incident also led the husband of the victim, Babangida Damba to sustain gunshot wounds
According to reports, the bandits, four in number with sophisticated weapons, stormed the area early hours of Wednesday and started shooting sporadically in the air to scare residents.
They broke into the residence of one Babangida Damba and shot him in the hand while his wife and their eight months old baby were whisked away.
The operation was disclosed lasted for half an hour without any security intervention
Police in Zamfara have confirmed the incident and assure that troops of the command are on the trail of the kidnappers to ensure safe return of the victims.
