*Youths Demand His Resignation

The fate of the embattled Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, remained uncertain as the meeting of the party’s governors ended in stalemate on Monday.

The governors could not agree on whether or not Secondus should resign his position before the party’s national convention in November.

Meanwhile, the crisis has taken another dimension as youths in the party besieged the Wadata House, headquarters of the party to demand the immediate resignation of the embattled Chairman.

The protesters, who were armed with placards bearing varying inscriptions, said Mr. Secondus is no longer competent to lead the party to its desired position.

While reacting to the development, the embattled Chairman on Monday disclosed reasons he would not resign his position.

This was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ike Abonyi, saying that Mr. Secondus has done nothing to warrant his resignation.

He urged those fighting against Secondus to come clean and tell party members across the country his offense and why he should resign.
