Over 500 Infants, Children Benefit From Hon. Gbajabiamila’s Save A Child Project In Lagos

No fewer than 500 infants and children have benefited from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila’s “Gbajabiamila Save a Child Project” held in Lagos on Friday.

This is part of a move by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila to improve the health care delivery system within his constituency and the entire Lagos State particularly for infants and children.

The programme, which involved donation of medical equipment and consumables, was put together by the Office of the Speaker in collaboration with Gbaja Professional Volunteer Network and Help for Citizens Initiative.

The consumables and equipment donated in large quantities include bottles of Methylated Spirit, Rolls of Cotton Wool, Pieces of Iv Fluid 10% Dextrose Water, Pieces of Iv Fluid Normal Saline, Pieces of Iv Fluid 4.3% Dextrose Saline, Packs of 2ml Needle and Syringe, Packs of 5ml Needle and Syringe, Packs of 10ml Needle and Syringe and Packs of Yellow Cannula, took place at Gbaja Maternity & Child Care Center, Surulere, Lagos on Friday 16th July, 2021.

While presenting the items, the representative of the Speaker, Mrs. Kemi Ogunyemi, who is also the Commissioner 4, Lagos State Health Service Commission and Chairperson of the Occasion, in her opening remarks, described the move by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the best way to show love to mankind.

She reiterated that Gbaja Professional Volunteer Network and Help for Citizens Initiative are putting the record straight through exemplary efforts of service to humanity.

Mrs. Ogunyemi expressed her happiness that the Speaker is surrounded with people of compassion, who genuinely care and love others.

She noted that she was impressed with this show of love and assured the people that Hon. Gbajabiamila will continue to strengthen the people and Government’s relationship through selfless service and quality representation.

The Vice Chairmanship candidate of Surulere Local Government, Hon. Dosumu Muiz, who handed over the equipment to the hospital management, implored them to put the items into good use.

He said the items are for the benefit of the people and that their administration, when elected, will continue to provide quality medical care services for the people of Surulere Local Government Area and also advocate the same across Lagos State.

In his goodwill message, the Director of Help for Citizens Initiative, Mr. Soyoye Akinyode who also represented Mr. Lawal Oyewole Lukman, the National Coordinator of Gbaja Professional Volunteer Network and S.A to the Speaker on Budget and Finance said the project was embarked upon to complement the sterling achievements of Rt. Hon. Speaker.

He said Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has championed impactful and life changing projects as the Speaker of the House of Representatives across the country.

He, therefore, called on the people to continue to give their unflinching support to the People’s Speaker.

Other donated items are packs of blue cannula, packs of water for injection, bottles of Paracetamol (Emzor Xbottle) Syrup, pieces of size 6 nasogastric tubes, pieces of Size 8 nasogastric tubes, packs of IV fluid giving set, packs of blood giving set, pieces of soluset and pieces of digits thermometers among others.

Dignitaries at the event include the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Committee Chairperson, Surulere Local Government, Chief (Mrs.) Hussein, Medical Director, Randle General Hospital, Dr. Odutayo and Special Adviser to the Speaker on Special Needs/Equal Opportunities, Barr. Abdulsalam Idowu Kamaldeen and several others.
