Following the accident of a gas truck that killed a ‘keke napeb’ driver, his three passengers, an okada rider and some others people at Bode Market, in downtown Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State on Sunday morning, the Iyaloja of the market, Sikirat Makinde has confessed that some of the traders who were involved in the gas tanker accident defiled a seven day warning given to them.
She confessed while speaking with newsmen in her residence in Ibadan.
Iyaloja said the revelation came during a yearly festival by trado-medicine traders that there should not be trading until a cleansing is done to avert future danger.
She noted that the incident happened on the day the cleansing was supposed to be done.
She called on relevant authorities to come to the aid of the affected and revive the market back it it’s normal state.
Some children numbering about eight and one ‘grandma’ were also reportedly crushed by the truck.
It was also confirmed that the driver disappeared before anybody could get hold of him.
