Makinde’s Candidate, Arapaja Becomes South West Chairman Of PDP, Humbles Olafeso

The candidate of Oyo’s Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has become the South West chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the statistics, 667 delegates were accredited to vote, 10 votes were voided, Arapaja got 343 votes while his opponent, Chief Eddy Olafeso garnered 314 votes.

While addressing delegates earlier, Engineer Makinde declared that the South West Zonal Congress of the party is a family affair.

He said “this Congress is an attempt to reposition our party in the South West, it has ramification to impact our national decision”.

“Whatever the outcome is, we will take it with good faith. We are all family, at the end of the day, there will be no victor, no vanquished”.

Speaking further he said, “as the only PDP Governor in the Zone, I say that whoever wins will work with me to reposition the party”.

GovernorSeyi Makinde also acknowledged the organizers of the congress for a job well done.
