The protesters, who noted that they met with the management earlier to press their case, expressed shock when it was half salaries they still received as March and April salaries.

“They paid us January and February half payment towards the ending of March, We just received alerts yesterday night for March and April, which is not even up to half of salary”

One of the interns, who claimed to have contacted Covid-19, disclosed she didn’t get anything from UCH. “I had buy my own drugs, no Covid-19 allowance, only for UCH to start owing me salary for months this is unfair.”

They called on the management of the teaching hospital to look into their demands as they rely solely on the stipends to survive and to take care of their family.
