‎In his acceptance speech, OYSIEC Chairman, Dr. Babatunde Adeniyi described the award as timely, considering the fact that it was not posthumous.

‎He opined that the honour and recognition bestowed on him would spur him to be more committed and dedicated to the progress of the union and the welfare of its members.

‎Dr. Adeniyi attributed the success recorded during his tenure to the collective efforts, sacrifices, and contributions of all members.

‎”Even after leaving office nearly six years ago, my commitment to service has not wavered. This award is not merely for recognition but a renewed call to do more,” he said.

“The confidence reposed in me through this honour strengthens my dedication to the union. It reinforces my unyielding resolve to serve with greater responsibility.

‎”The progress recorded by the institution reflects collective sacrifice and genuine struggle. From a time without access to some basic amenities, unity and perseverance brought transformation. The union became a shield, a voice, and a vehicle for development. Together, our commitment to welfare and progress remains unwavering.”

He appreciated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the approach adopted in dealing with union leaders across state-owned tertiary institutions, describing him as a listening governor.
