Oyo Speaker Ogundoyin Commends Ijaya, Hails His Commitment To Grassroots Development

Oyo Speaker, Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, has felicitated the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, popularly known as Ijaya, on his birthday.

In a congratulatory message issued to mark the occasion, the Speaker described Ademola Ojo as a committed public servant, grassroots politician and dependable partner in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Ogundoyin highlighted the commissioner’s contributions to the development of local government administration and the strengthening of traditional institutions across Oyo State.

The Speaker, who represents Ibarapa East State Constituency and hails from the same Ibarapa zone as the commissioner, said the birthday celebration offered an opportunity to recognise Ojo’s dedication to the people and his years of service to Oyo State.

Ogundoyin commended the commissioner for bringing his wealth of political and administrative experience to bear in the discharge of his responsibilities.

He particularly noted the importance of Ojo’s ministry, which plays a crucial role in grassroots governance, local government administration and the relationship between government and traditional institutions.

According to the Speaker, Ademola Ojo’s approach to public service demonstrates the importance of commitment, accessibility and responsiveness in governance.

He noted that these qualities are particularly important at the grassroots level, where citizens directly experience the impact of government policies and programmes.

Ogundoyin said local government remains the closest tier of government to the people, making effective administration at that level essential to sustainable community development.

The Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker also described Ademola Ojo, fondly known as Ijaya, as an elder brother and political mentor whose commitment to public service deserves recognition.

“Hon. Ademola Ojo, fondly known as Ijaya, is my Egbon, and a political mentor who has continued to demonstrate commitment to public service.

“His dedication to the people and his contributions to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde deserve commendation.

“His role as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters is particularly important because local government remains the closest tier of government to our people, while our traditional institutions continue to play a significant role in maintaining peace, promoting community development and preserving our cultural heritage,” the Speaker said.
