The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has expressed confidence that Ibarapa votes for Makinde in 2027 will be massive, citing the development projects executed by Governor Seyi Abiodun Makinde across Ibarapaland.
Ogundoyin stated this at the grand finale of activities marking the first anniversary of the coronation of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I.
The event, held in Eruwa, also featured the installation of Governor Makinde and his wife, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, as the Aare Asoludero and Yeye Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland respectively.
Ibarapa Votes for Makinde in 2027 Linked to Development Projects
Ogundoyin, who said that Ibarapa votes for Makinde in 2027 will be massive, congratulated him and his wife on the traditional honours, describing the conferment of the titles as recognition of their contributions to the development of Oyo State and Ibarapaland.
The Speaker specifically commended the governor for the ongoing inner road projects in Ibarapa East Local Government, particularly in Eruwa.
He said the projects were already making a visible difference in communities across the area and showed that the development of rural and semi-urban communities remained a priority of the Makinde administration.
“Your Excellency, permit me to particularly appreciate you for the inner road projects in Ibarapa East, especially here in Eruwa. These projects are making a visible difference in our communities and demonstrating that the development of our rural and semi-urban communities remains a priority of your administration,” Ogundoyin said.
Ogundoyin Says Ibarapa Will Support Makinde in 2027
The Oyo Speaker also appreciated Governor Makinde for his assurance that similar inner road projects would be extended to Lanlate.
According to him, the commitment has renewed residents’ confidence that communities across Ibarapaland will be included in the administration’s development agenda.
Ogundoyin further highlighted the ongoing Ido–Eruwa road project, describing it as a major infrastructure intervention that will strengthen the connection between Ibarapaland and the wider Oyo State economy.
He said the infrastructure projects being implemented by the Makinde administration demonstrate its commitment to improving connectivity and extending development beyond major urban centres.
Ibarapa People to Reciprocate Makinde’s Development, Speaker Says
According to Ogundoyin, residents of Ibarapaland have witnessed and experienced the impact of the projects being implemented by the state government.
He expressed confidence that the development strides would influence the people’s political decision ahead of the 2027 election.
“Your Excellency, the people of Ibarapaland see these projects, they feel their impact, and they appreciate the fact that development is reaching their communities. As we look ahead to 2027, I have no doubt that Ibarapaland will reciprocate this commitment. The people of Ibarapaland, having witnessed the development taking place under your leadership, Ibarapa votes for Makinde in 2027 will be massive, they will demonstrate their appreciation and support at the polls,” he said. Ibarapa Traditional Council Commended
The Speaker also commended Oba Adegbola and the entire Ibarapa Traditional Council for conferring the traditional titles on Governor Makinde and his wife.
He praised the traditional institution for its continued commitment to peace, unity and development across the region.
Ogundoyin also congratulated the Eleruwa and people of Eruwa on the renovation and expansion of the Eleruwa Palace.
He described the project as a fitting highlight of the anniversary celebration and a testament to the importance attached to preserving cultural heritage and strengthening traditional institutions.
