Spice Up Your Reports With Research- SWAN members Charged

Veteran sports journalist, Emmanuel Jemegah has charged sports writers to spice up their reports with research.

He identified effective research and understanding the rules of sports as key ingredients for local sports reportage.

Jemegah made the appeal while speaking on fundamental of local sports reporting at an online training for sports journalists.

The even was organized by Made in Africa.

Jemegah explained that for sports journalists to be successful in their chosen career, they must be vast in experience and knowledgeable in sports they are covering by acquainting with its rules and ethics to enhance their productivity.

The veteran journalist, who had covered local league and other sports for over two decades, challenged sports reporters on factual and accurate reporting, especially in the area of analysis to further promote and propagate the nation’s elite league.

While elaborating on engagement in culture and sports, Jemegah charged pen pushers to be wary of the politics and culture of the environment where sporting events are taking place to guide them against infringing on the norms and values of the host community.
