Agboworin, Akande-Sadipe, Dapo Lam, Other To Know Fate As INEC Fixes April 15 For Supplementary Elections

Two sitting House of Representative members in Oyo State, Abass Adigun and Tolulope Akande-Sadipe will know their fate as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, April 15 for the supplementary elections across the country.

The supplementary elections will also include governorship elections in Kebbi and Adamawa States, as well as national and state assembly elections declared inconclusive.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has decided that all outstanding Governorship, National and State Assembly supplementary elections will take place on Saturday 15th April 2023.

This was disclosed after a meeting at the Commission headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

“Arising from its meeting held today, the Independent National Electoral Commission has decided that all outstanding Governorship, National and State Assembly supplementary elections will take place on Saturday 15th April 2023.”

The announcement comes barely one week after the governorship elections of Kebbi and Adamawa states were declared inconclusive.

Meanwhile, supplementary election in Ibadan South East/North East is majorly between the sitting honourable member, Abass Adigun Agboworin of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the son of former governor and one-time member of the House of Representatives, Dapo Lam-Adesina of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In Oluyole Federal Constituency, the battle is between the serving honourable member, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe of APC and former Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mojeed Mogbonjubola of PDP.
