
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of the presidential election.
INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu declared the former governor of Lagos State the winner after the presentation of results by collation officers for the presidential election from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory ends at the National Collation Centre, Abuja.
Tinubu, who is the candidates of APC polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his arc rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP, who scored, 6,984,520 votes and Peter Obi of Labour Party with, 6,101,533 to the second and third positions respectively.
Prof. Yakubu announced that the total valid votes was 24,025,940, while the rejected votes and total votes cast were 939,278 and 24,966,218.
