Oyo State Has Lost A Great Politician, Oyo Speaker Mourns Death Of Former Governor Akala

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has said the death of former governor Adebayo Alao Akala is another great loss to Oyo state.

The Speaker stated this in a statement in Ibadan following the announcement of the death of the former governor.

The Speaker said the death of Oyunba Christopher Alao-Akala was another unfortunate and devastating incident in Oyo State in the last few weeks.

He disclosed that Ogbomosoland has again lost another great son.

According to him, “It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Chief Adebayo Alao Akala. This is coming exactly four weeks after the passing of the paramount ruler of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade the third. As a Former Governor, Late Adebayo Alao Akala contributed immensely to the development of Oyo state and as a Local Government Chairman in Ogbomoso North Local Government, his impacts are still noticeable.

The Speaker in the statement sympathized with the people of Ogbomosoland, and particularly Hon. Olawumi Oladeji, a member representing Ogbomoso North state constituency on the death of former Governor Alao Akala whom he described as political God father to the lawmaker.
