Olubadan’ Death: Palace Announces Burial Arrangements

Following the passing away of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, the family has announced that the burial will take place by 4 o’clock on Sunday according to Islamic rites.

The Palace Spokesman, Chief Adeola Oloko, confirmed that the Olubadan died at exactly 1am on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

Oloko added that the monarch didn’t show any sign of serious illness contrary to reports making the rounds.

The respected monarch, Oba Saliu Adetunji died at the age of 93 after spending over five on the throne as Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Meanwhile, the family has started the preparation for his burial as his grave where the first class monarch will be buried is presently being prepared. The condolence register has also been opened.

Though, the presence of dignitaries has not been serious, however, neighbours of the late monarch at Popoyemoja have been trooping in to pay their last respect.
