Ghana Picks Ahead Of Nigeria To Become A Location To Launch West African Centre Of Global Health

As dust is yet to settle on Twitter’s choice to have its Africa’s headquarters located in Ghana, the latter has once again beat Nigeria to another prize.

Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, had explained that Ghana’s choice of his company was based on the country’s history of being a “champion of democracy” and “a supporter of free speech, online freedom and the open internet”.

The German government has also announced Ghana as one of the countries to site German-West African Centre for Global Health and Pandemic Prevention.

According to Christoph Retzlaff, German ambassador to Ghana, via a tweet on Thursday, he listed the country as one of the eight centres to launch the programme.

Retzlaff wrote: “Excellent news: Germany will support launch of a new “German-West African Center for Global Health and Pandemic Prevention,”

“It will be located in Ghana and be part of 8 new centers worldwide to fight global challenges.”
