Oyo Supplementary Budget 2026: State Approves N210bn, Total Budget Hits N1.102 Trillion

‎The Oyo 2026 budget has risen to N1.102 trillion after the Oyo State House of Assembly granted N210 billion supplementary approval on Thursday.

The additional funding was approved during plenary following the adoption of the report by the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning.

Chairman of the committee, Hon. Sunkami Babalola, said the Oyo supplementary budget 2026 will be used to accelerate critical infrastructure projects across the state before the end of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Hon. Babalola while presenting the Oyo State Supplementary Finance Bill, 2026* said the bill was scrutinised clause by clause.

‎The committee also considered inputs from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and projections in the Oyo State Medium Term Expenditure Framework.

‎He disclosed that a large portion of the N210bn supplementary approval is earmarked for the Ministry of Works.

‎”The Ministry of Works has N210 billion as its supplementary allocation. We also have provisions for Oyo State’s investment in the upgrade of Ladoke Akintola International Airport, which is ongoing,” he said.

‎The committee recommended that the N210 billion be sourced from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Oyo State for the year ending December 31, 2026.

Total Appropriation Moves From N892.08bn To N1.102trn.

With the passage, Oyo’s 2026 budget increased from N892.08 billion to N1.102 trillion.

‎Speaking after plenary, Hon. Babalola said the Oyo supplementary budget 2026 reflects the House’s commitment to sustainable development and infrastructure delivery in the state.

“The vision of the Seyi Makinde administration is to ensure all ongoing projects are completed before the end of its tenure,” he added.

“The House scrutinised every detail in the budget, and we are satisfied. That is why you are seeing us pass it into law this evening,” he concluded.
