The City Boy Movement (CBM), an APC support group, has issued a “Notice to Show Cause” to its Oyo State Chapter Coordinator, Hon. Ahmed Ajibola, over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination, and acts prejudicial to the interests of the Movement.
The notice, dated 2 June 2026 and signed by the Director-General of CBM, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, followed a formal petition dated 1 June 2026 submitted by the Oyo State Director of the Movement, Hon. Olufemi Onireti.
According to the document, Ajibola is accused of several acts said to have occurred during a meeting of the state leadership of the Movement in Oyo State.
According to the petition received by the Director-General, Ajibola is alleged to have made abusive, insulting, inflammatory and derogatory remarks against the national leadership of the City Boy Movement, including the Director-General.
He is also accused of making disparaging and offensive comments about the Patron of the Movement, Barr Seyi Tinubu, as well as directing offensive and derogatory remarks at the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The petition further alleges that Ajibola engaged in open acts of insubordination and showed disrespect to constituted authority within the Movement. He was also said to have directed hostile and insulting remarks at a fellow leader, Mr. Jerry Durojaiye, and to have allegedly challenged him to a physical confrontation.
Additionally, he is accused of conducting himself in a manner capable of causing division, instability, factionalisation and disaffection within the Oyo State Chapter of the Movement. The petition also states that his conduct was capable of bringing the image, integrity, reputation and public standing of the City Boy Movement into disrepute.
The Director-General stated that if established, the allegations constitute serious misconduct, breach of organizational discipline, and acts prejudicial to the unity and objectives of the CBM.
Ajibola has been given 48 hours from receipt of the notice to respond in writing and show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against him. He is required to address each allegation and provide any facts, evidence, or witness information in his defence.
The letter stressed that the notice does not constitute a finding of guilt, and that the matter remains subject to investigation in line with principles of fairness and due process.
It warned that failure to respond within the stipulated period may compel the leadership to proceed with further action based on available information.
The Movement said it remains committed to upholding discipline, accountability, and organizational harmony.
The notice was copied to the Deputy Director-General (Internal Governance), National Legal Adviser & Chief Compliance Officer, National Secretary, and Oyo State Director of the Movement.
