*To Inaugurate Team Friday
The Governor of Oyo State and Presidential Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde, has appointed the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, as the Director-General of the party’s gubernatorial campaign council.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
According to the statement, Governor Makinde will on Friday inaugurate the party’s Oyo State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde also appointed Dr. Adeniran as Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign.
Other appointments into the campaign structure include Hon. Saheed Arowosaye, popularly known as AROSAD and former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, who will serve as Deputy State Coordinator for the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign. Hon. Demola Ojo, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, was named Deputy Director-General for Oyo South Senatorial District, while Dr. Femi Ojo and Alhaji Siju Lawal will serve as Deputy Director-General for Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial Districts respectively.
The statement also named Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo as Director of the Women’s Wing and Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, a former Special Assistant on Youth to Governor Makinde, as Director of the Youth Wing.
The government added that additional members of the campaign council would be announced in due course.
The inauguration comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum across the country, with Governor Makinde leading the APM’s presidential bid while also seeking to consolidate the party’s hold on Oyo State.
