As momentum is gathering for the celebration of the 50 years of creation of Oyo State, the Committee in charge has opened a challenge for the design of best logo, theme and mascot.
The Chairman of the committee, Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, disclosed this during a press conference on Monday to herald the celebration.
He described the golden jubilee celebration as a reflection of Oyo State’s identity, strength coexistence and shared dreams.
The two-terms House of Representatives member said that the celebration will spread across all geo-political zones of the state.
”We shall involve all strata of the society (age, gender, religion, belief, or career). As the Oyo State Government Executive arm of government takes the leadership in this celebration, the Legislative, Judiciary, Traditional and Religious bodies, Artisans, Students, Farmers, and Entrepreneurs will definitely have a role to play as we celebrate our dear Pacesetter State.”
Hon. Akinade-Fijabi, therefore, called on the general public to participate in the logo, theme and mascot challenge to promote creativity and inclusiveness.
”In the spirit of inclusion and creativity, we are also announcing today the Oyo @ 50 Logo Design, Theme, and Mascot Challenge.
”We hereby invite the general public and creative minds across Oyo State and beyond to submit their designs that best capture the essence of our golden jubilee, which are our past achievements, our vibrant present, and our ambitious vision for the future.”
The Oyo State @50 Celebration Committee chairman said that the emblem symbolizes the pride and unity of the people, adding that the winning design will be used as official emblem for the celebration.
He charged the prospective participants to submit their designs to oyostate50@oyostate.gov.ng within one week.
Hon. Akinade-Fijabi urged the Indigenes of the state to renew their commitment to build a greater, stronger and more inclusive Oyo State.
”The winning design will become the official emblem of the Oyo @ 50 celebrations, symbolizing the pride and unity of our people. This is an open contest and submission should be sent to our designated email: oyostate50@oyostate.gov.ng and Whatsapp (09163121000). The winners will be handsomely rewarded.
”As we prepare for this landmark celebration, let us all renew our commitment to building an Oyo State that is greater, stronger, and more inclusive; a state that continues to lead in education, governance, enterprise, and innovation.”
