The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has expressed readiness to leave behind a legacy that will transform the civil service workforce in the state by transiting from manual to digital to eradicate stress and unnecessary delays.
The Governor disclosed this while receiving the report of the Committee on Review and Update of Public Service Rules and Other Regulations in the State Civil/Public Service, held at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan on Thursday.
According to him, most of the Public Service Rules are obsolete, hence the need to review the rules to world standard practice that would transform the State Civil and Public Service.
Makinde, while commending the committee, revealed that their efforts did not only validate his position of leaving a desirable legacy in the state, but would improve better conditions of service for the state workers.
He, therefore, assured the committee that he would constitute a technical committee that would work on the implementation and operationalisation of their recommendations.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Adebisi Adesola, who is a former Head of Service in the state and Chairman, Board of Directors, Pensioners 106.7FM, while presenting the report, said if the recommendations are adopted and implemented it will result in greater output and better delivery in line with global best practices.
Four documents were presented for consideration by the Committee; Public Service Rule Volume 1 Administrative Regulations, Financial Regulations, Civil Service Commission Rule and Operation handbook for Civil/Public Service in Oyo State.
