The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) , Prof. Charles Soludo as winner of November 8 governorship election.
INEC Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, declared on Sunday at the Commission’s Headquarters in Awka.
Soludo polled 422,644 votes to defeat Chief Nichols Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes.
Mr Paul Chukwuma, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) secured 37,753 votes.
Peter Obi’s Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, scored 10,576 votes, while John Nwosu, of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), polled 8,208 votes.
