An international organization in partnership with South West Nigeria Excellence Award has honoured the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Oyo State chapter, Comrade Kayode Martins with the Southwest Nigeria Outstanding Leadership Award.
The award was presented at the South West Awards 2025 ceremony, organised held in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
The event recognised individuals across the region who have made invaluable contributions in their respective fields.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Comrade Martins, expressed gratitude to the organisers for finding him worthy of the honour.
He described the recognition as a call to a greater service.
Earlier in his welcome address, the organiser of the event, Mr. Ani Olawale, represented by Dr. Marian Akran, said the event aims to celebrate excellence and inspire more impactful leadership.
The keynote speaker, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Ekehuan Campus, Professor Buniyamin Ayinde, emphasized the importance of embracing alternative medicine in modern healthcare practice.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Oyo State chapter, Comrade Raji Oladimeji, and Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Hakeem Shittu.
