The High Court sitting in Abuja has fined Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for contempt of court.
The court asked her to pay a sum of five million naira (N5 million) and also ordered her to publish a formal apology in two national newspapers and on her Facebook page
The Federal High Court found the Senator guilty of contempt following a satirical apology she posted on her Facebook page.
Justice Binta Nyako gave the order in a preliminary issue in a matter challenging her suspension by the Senate.
The court fined Natasha 5 million naira which is to be paid into the court registry.
“Additionally, she is ordered to publish a formal apology on her Facebook page and in two national newspapers, all within seven days of this ruling.”
