Nigeria Weightlifting Federation Holds Training Courses For Coaches, Athletes

The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) has completed arrangements for a seven-day training programme for 22 athletes and eight coaches.

The training, according to the Media Officer, NWF, Amaechi Agbo, is to foster continuity and improve on the standard of the sport.

The training programme which will commence on Monday June 23rd, will end on Saturday, June 29, 2025.

‎Agno noted that the arrival date for the participants is Sunday, June 22nd, while the departure date is Monday, June 30.

‎He disclosed that 22 athletes comprising 10 male and 12 female, as well as 8 coaches have been invited by the federation to participate in the training courses.

‎Agbo said the programme will hold at the Weightlifting Gym, Gymnasium Hall, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

‎He maintained that a renowned weightlifting coaching expert from Australia will be on ground to conduct the specialized coaching programme/training for the selected coaches and athletes in the federation.

The statement by Amaechi Agbo further disclosed that the programme is designed to enhance the athletes and coaches preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games and the next Olympic Games.
